A nath, hathphool and vintage corset saree defined Alia Bhatt's third Cannes outing
Alia Bhatt's third appearance stood out as she arrived in an ivory corset saree and parasol that gave her Cannes run a more rooted, softer turn.

Alia Bhatt seems to be leaning into a softer, calmer fashion mood this Cannes season — at least that’s what her back-to-back appearances suggest. For her third outing at the French Riviera, the actor attended the Bharat Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival, where she unveiled the poster and creative vision for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) alongside filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. And this time, she turned to something far more rooted.
Ditching dramatic silhouettes and maximalist styling, Alia stepped out in an ivory corset saree by Tarun Tahiliani that felt unapologetically desi, yet refreshingly global in execution.
The embroidered look featured a structured corset blouse with delicate detailing along the neckline, paired with an unusual drape that subtly echoed the fluidity of a saree while borrowing from the sharpness of a Victorian corset gown. It was sleek, restrained and elegant.
And then came the parasol.
As she made her way to the pavilion, Alia was spotted carrying a vintage-style parasol that instantly elevated the old-world charm of the look.
Jewellery remained minimal but impactful: golden hathphools on both hands, statement gold earrings, earcuffs, barely-there makeup and a tiny bindi that tied the entire fusion moment together beautifully. And don't miss that nath!
Before this, Alia leaned fully into high glamour for her second Cannes appearance. The actor wore a figure-hugging monotone gown by Tamara Ralph featuring a dramatic plunging neckline, paired with a matching draped detail around her shoulders — and no, we are still not calling it a Scandinavian scarf (Gucci, you listening?).
The real showstopper, however, was the necklace. Crafted with 168.27 carats of rare pink coral, a 5.53-carat Golconda Type 2A diamond and 20 carats of finely set diamonds, the statement piece brought a dose of old-school opulence to the otherwise sharply modern silhouette.
Her first look, meanwhile, was a love letter to Cannes itself. Alia appeared in a dreamy corset-style ball gown hand-painted with scenic landscapes inspired by the French Riviera — an ode to the coastline that every year transforms into the world’s biggest runway of cinema and couture.
