Kondotty Assembly Constituency is located in the Malappuram district in Kerala. It is included in the Malappuram Lok Sabha constituency for national parliamentary elections and is the 33rd of the 140 seats of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. Kondotty has long been a crucial seat for the United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala politics.

Kondotty constituency encompasses a variety of urban, semi-urban, and rural regions within the Malappuram district. It consists of  Cheacode, Cherukavu, Kondotty, Pulikkal, Vazhakkad, Nediyiruppu, and Vazhayur Panchayats in Ernad Taluk. The region's socioeconomic profile is varied, with a sizable portion of the workforce employed in trade, agriculture, small enterprises, and services. T. V. Ibrahim of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), who represents the United Democratic Front (UDF), was re-elected as the MLA for Kondotty in the 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election. T. V. Ibrahim (IUML, UDF) received 82,759 votes, or around 50.42% of all valid votes cast, according to the official statistical report. Kattuparuthy Sulaiman Haji, an Independent candidate backed by the LDF, came in second with 65,093 votes, or around 39.66%. With 11,114 votes, or around 6.77%, Sheeba Unnikrishnan of the BJP (NDA) came in third. Ibrahim won by a margin of 17,666 votes, or about 10.75% of all valid votes cast.
